Just realized I was using the wrong torque spec on injector lines for months

Had a 2015 Duramax in the shop with a persistent leak. Was using 44 ft-lbs from an old manual. My buddy at the Kenworth dealer said the updated spec is 35 ft-lbs. Switched, leak stopped. Anyone else get burned by outdated service info?

Our shop foreman keeps a printed list of common torque spec updates taped to his toolbox. I check it every Monday. The number of times a simple bulletin fix has saved us hours of comeback headaches is crazy. Manufacturers change their minds more than my kids do about dinner.

Yeah, and it's not just the printed stuff. I've seen wrong specs copied and pasted into digital shop management systems, so the error gets baked in there too. You fix one source, but then the bad data is living in another spot (like a shared drive or an old tablet). Makes you double-check everything, which is a pain.

Printed lists can't keep up with the online updates, you need a live database.
