PSA: I wasted $400 on a 'universal' turbo rebuild kit for a 6.7 Powerstroke that was missing half the gaskets.

The seller swore it was complete, but after tearing the whole thing down in my bay, I found out the hard way and had to order the correct parts overnight, so has anyone found a kit supplier that doesn't cut corners?

Man, that's brutal. I've been there with those "complete" kits that leave you hanging. Last time it was a water pump kit missing the main o-ring, had to shut the whole job down for a day. Makes you want to throw the whole box through a window. I stick to Riffraff Diesel for my 6.7 stuff now, their kits are actually packed right.

I heard some of those missing parts get sold off separately as "service packs" by the same company. It's like they plan for the kit to be almost complete, so you have to buy that extra little bag. My buddy in a parts department told me they see it all the time with certain brands. It feels less like a mistake and more like a way to make more money off you. That's why finding a supplier who gets it right the first time is everything.

That "throw the whole box through a window" feeling is too real. It's not just about missing parts, it's the total loss of trust. You start checking every single piece against the diagram, doubting if the bolts are the right grade or if the bearings are actually new. It turns a straightforward job into a full-on inspection, and you're the unpaid quality control.
