Rant: That perfect 3 day stretch in Cincinnati last fall still bugs me
Everyone says a diesel shop needs chaos to stay sharp, but last October I had a Tuesday through Thursday where every single job went smooth - no comeback, no busted tool, a fleet truck overhaul finished a day early - and I swear it made the next two weeks feel twice as rough. Has anyone else had a run of good luck that actually messed with your workflow?

I just started keeping a log of wins to balance out the bad days.

That smooth run set you up for a bigger letdown than any bad day could.

You said 'set you up for a bigger letdown than any bad day could' and I gotta ask, is a smooth run really that serious? I mean, yeah, it stings when you're expecting a good day and it turns sour, but isn't that just part of the whole running experience? Every runner has ups and downs, and one good run doesn't automatically mean the next one's gonna wreck you. Maybe it's about how you look at it, not just the run itself. We're talking about a hobby, not life or death, right?
