Shoutout to the guy who showed me the trick with the zip tie on a 6.7 Powerstroke injector harness
I was stuck on a farm outside Cheyenne with a no-start, and after two hours of chasing voltage drops, a passing driver saw my hood up, showed me how to loop a zip tie to pull the connector lock, and got me rolling in five minutes flat, so what's the best roadside fix you've ever been shown?

That zip tie trick is a lifesaver for sure. Best one I ever saw was using a soda can and some hose clamps to patch a blown coolant line on an old Ford. Got it home without a tow.

Actually, that soda can trick works in a pinch but it's a real gamble with modern coolant systems. The aluminum can react with the coolant and cause more corrosion down the line. It's a classic roadside fix that can get you home, but you absolutely have to replace it with a proper hose as soon as you can. I've seen the patch fail a week later and leave someone stranded all over again.

Wow, I once used duct tape on a radiator hose!

My buddy tried that soda can trick on his truck last summer. It held just long enough to get off the highway before dumping all his coolant in a parking lot. Those quick fixes really do buy you minutes, not miles.
