Warning: using a cheap torque wrench on head bolts cost me a rebuild job last fall in Spokane

Was torquing down the heads on a Cummins ISX and the wrench clicked way too early, found out later it was 30 ft-lbs off at the high end. Anybody else had a harbor freight special fail at a critical moment?

Used to be fine with cheap tools, but not after that.

Yeah cheap tools are fine for a while until they break at the worst possible time. Had a drill slip and strip out a bolt on a project I was almost done with, made me so mad. Switched to a midrange brand after that and never looked back. What finally pushed you over the edge?
