Bought a Huion Kamvas 13 tablet for $250 and it changed my whole process

I was using a really old Wacom that kept glitching, so I finally saved up for a screen tablet. The Kamvas lets me draw right on the screen, which is so much easier for line work and coloring. It took a week to get used to, but now I can't imagine going back. Has anyone else switched from a regular tablet to a screen one recently?

Oh man, the "draw right on the screen" thing sounds like a game changer. I tried using a friend's regular tablet once and looking up at the monitor while my hand was somewhere else just broke my brain. I could never get the hang of it. Your post makes me want to give a screen one a shot, even though I mostly just doodle for fun.

Yeah, the regular ones are called "non-screen" tablets. The screen ones are way easier for that hand-eye thing, @stellaperry. Even for just doodling, it feels a lot more natural.

Read an article that called screen tablets the best upgrade for digital artists. The direct drawing really does fix the disconnect. Makes total sense why you'd never go back.

Honestly saw a video where an artist said switching to a screen tablet was like finally taking the training wheels off. They kept messing up lines on their old tablet because their hand was down here but the line showed up over there. With the screen, they could just look at their pen and draw the shape right away. It seems so simple but it fixes that whole weird feeling.
