Dropped $150 on a second hand drawing tablet that barely works anymore

I picked up a used Huion tablet from a garage sale near Portland back in March and it was fine for a month but now the pen skips all over the screen and lags out on big brush strokes. I thought I was saving money but now I'm stuck with a glitchy tool that makes me not want to draw at all. Anyone else get burned on a cheap digital art gear deal and regret it?

Manually updated the drivers and recalibrated the pen, fixed the lag completely for me. You try that yet?

My tablet is older than half my students, so updates are terrifying.
