Found a weird trick to fix my brush lag in Procreate

I been fighting this stupid brush lag for weeks where the pen would skip like crazy. My friend who does animation said try turning off the streamline stabilizer and just use a smoother paper texture instead. Worked like a dream and now my lines are actually clean without that annoying delay. Anyone else found random settings that fix weird glitches?

Has anybody checked if their iPad is actually heating up while they work? I noticed my brushes got all laggy and jumpy last summer and I kept messing with settings for weeks. Finally realized my case was trapping heat and the iPad was thermal throttling. Took the case off, put a little desk fan pointing at it, and the lag disappeared completely. Streamline, paper texture, nibs none of that mattered when the chip was just too hot to function right. Might be worth testing if your tablet feels warm before the brush acts up.

Stop thinking of streamline as the enemy. You traded one fix for another but you didn't fix the real issue. Streamline is there for a reason and turning it off just hides the problem underneath. Your pen skip was probably from a dirty tip or a screen protector that's too thick. I've seen tons of people blame software when it's just gunk on the nib or a cracked screen protector messing with the pressure curve. Try cleaning your iPad screen with a microfiber cloth and swap to a fresh nib. That fixes the lag way better than messing with brush settings you don't fully understand. Smooth paper textures can cause their own issues too like muddy lines or inconsistent pressure down the road.

Had my ipad pro 2018 for 4 years. Turned off streamline day one. Never had lag or jitter. The trick is a matte screen protector. Paperlike 2.0 specifically. Changed my nibs every 3 months too. That combo stopped all the weird pressure jumps I kept getting with smooth glass.
