I keep seeing artists post their work without any info on the process or tools.
It hit me last week when I saw a really cool piece. I wanted to know how they got that texture, but the post just said 'new piece.' No mention of the software, brushes, or even the time it took. I think it matters because sharing that stuff helps other artists learn. I know from teaching that showing your work includes showing how you got there. Does anyone else get frustrated when the process is a total mystery?

Right, like they're guarding state secrets instead of telling us which brush pack they downloaded for free. Gotta love when the caption is just "felt cute might delete later" on a masterpiece that took 40 hours. It's not asking for their social security number, just maybe a hint about the software. Makes you wonder if they think mystery is part of their brand or something.

Felt cute might delete later" is the worst. Just ask them directly.

And the thing is, even when you do ask, they either don't answer or give some vague reply like "oh just messing around in Procreate." Like, okay, but I can tell that took real skill and setup. If you're gonna post stuff that good, own it. A little transparency goes a long way for people trying to learn or just appreciate the work.
