Just realized my drawing tablet stopped working mid-project yesterday

I was about 3 hours into a digital portrait for a client in Austin when the screen just went black. Tried unplugging it and restarting my computer twice but nothing. Turns out the USB-C port on my Huion Kamvas 13 is completely fried after 2 years of use. Anyone dealt with that specific port issue before or is it just time to buy a new one?

Ugh that "known weak point" thing you mentioned really gets me. I remember reading an article on some tech site that said Huion's USB-C ports are like the number one failure point across all their tablet models because they use cheaper connectors that can't handle being plugged and unplugged a lot. It's super frustrating because my friend on Discord had the same thing happen with his Kamvas 13 after only a year and a half, and he tried everything short of soldering it himself. The shipping cost for repair is such a rip off too, like more than half the price of a new one which feels designed to make you give up and just buy again.

Yeah that "known weak point" thing is spot on. I had the same USB-C failure on my Kamvas 13 and just bit the bullet on a Wacom instead.

Friend of mine had the exact same thing happen on his Kamvas 16 last year. Was in the middle of a big freelance piece and poof, nothing. He tried different cables and different computers, still dead. Huion support told him the port was a known weak point on that model. They offered to fix it but the shipping cost was almost as much as a new tablet. He ended up just buying a new one from a different brand. Sucks because those things aren't cheap.
