My gallery wall fell down at an art fair and I lost half my prints
Last Saturday in Portland, my whole display system collapsed during setup and about 15 of my 30 prints got bent or scuffed from hitting the concrete. Has anyone found a reliable way to transport framed digital prints that doesn't risk this kind of damage?

Oh my friend Jenna had this exact thing happen at a craft show in Seattle last spring. She was hauling her framed prints in those plastic totes you get at the hardware store and one toppled right off her cart. Total disaster with bent frames and scratched glass. What she does now is she wraps each framed print in a layer of cardboard and then bubble wrap with those stretchy band things you use for moving. She also stacks them flat in a hard sided case that locks shut, never standing upright or leaning against each other. The hard case is heavy to carry but worth it because she hasn't had a single problem since she switched.

The stretchy band things are a game changer honestly. I use those for everything now, even strapping down loose stuff in my trunk. Saves a lot of hassle.

God damn, that's rough. I've hauled a ton of fragile stuff in my truck over the years and learned the hard way too. But reading that advice about stacking them flat in a hard case makes me wonder something. Doesn't the pressure from stacking them on top of each other risk crushing the frames or pushing the prints against the glass, even with bubble wrap in between? I've seen people stack canvases that way with no issue, but framed stuff has that glass and an air gap that can shift around if anything presses down wrong. Also, what kind of hard case are they using? A standard plastic tote or one of those heavy duty road cases with foam inserts? Because a regular tote still flexes if you drop it or stack other crap on top of it, so that seems like it could still be a gamble. I'm just trying to picture if that flat stacking idea is actually sturdy or if it just feels like it is.
