Rant: Dropped $120 on a 4K pen display, turns out my tablet was the problem all along

Three months back I bought this big 4K pen display because I thought my line work looked jagged on my old tablet. Figured a bigger screen and better pressure curve would fix my confidence issues with inking. Spent a full weekend setting it up, calibrating the colors, and testing every brush pack I owned. But my strokes still wobbled and my smooth lines came out shaky. Then my buddy borrowed my old tablet for a livestream and we realized my driver settings were fighting my drawing program the whole time. The 4K display is nice for viewing but I could have just tweaked the stabilizer and saved myself the money. Has anyone else bought fancy gear when the real fix was just a software setting? What did you end up doing with the extra device?

Three months? Man, I spent $200 on a fancy drawing glove once only to find out my hand was just sweaty during summer. Now the 4K display doubles as a great second monitor for watching cat videos while I work, so that's something.
