Spent weeks on a complex oil painting mockup but switched to a simple flat color approach for my portfolio page.

I was debating between a detailed, textured background that matched my painting style versus a clean, solid color block behind my art. Picked the flat color because it made the brushwork stand out without competing. Has anyone else found that a simpler backdrop actually makes your work look more professional online?

Wait, you actually spent weeks on a detailed oil painting mockup and then ditched it for a solid color block? That takes some serious guts. I would have been too attached to all that work to just scrap it like that. A flat color background sounds so clean and understated, but also a little risky if someone expects a fancy setup. Did you end up going with a white, black, or some bolder hue behind the art?

Wait, did you go with white or black in the end?

@linda_dixon49 White might just make the art float off the wall.
