TIFU by forgetting to save my layers before merging
Was working on a big commission piece last night in Procreate, about 4 hours in, and decided to merge like 8 layers to clean up the file. Turned out I had some shading on a lower layer I totally forgot about and poof it was gone. I was at my desk in my apartment, it was like 2 AM, and I just sat there staring at my iPad for a solid minute. Tried the undo button but I had already done like 10 other strokes by the time I noticed. Ended up having to redraw the whole face from scratch this morning, took another 2 hours. Anyone else have a similar crash out moment where a quick move ruined a bunch of progress?

4 hours in and merging without checking first? That's rough but I'm gonna have to disagree with kimmurphy here. Losing hours of work is not part of the fun for me, it just makes me want to throw my iPad across the room. I've been there with Procreate's layer limit forcing merges and it always feels like a gamble. You probably already know this but I always duplicate the whole file before I merge anything now, just in case. Hope the redraw came out even better than the first one at least.
