Unpopular opinion: I spent years trying to make my digital paintings look like oil on canvas.

I was always adding texture overlays and brush strokes in Photoshop to mimic traditional media. Then, a friend saw my gallery and said, 'Your work is great, but why hide that it's digital?' That comment hit me. I realized I was treating the medium like a limitation, not a tool. Has anyone else had a moment where they stopped trying to copy another style and embraced what makes digital art unique?

Oh man, that's like putting racing stripes on a bicycle. Your friend has a point, digital can do stuff paint just... can't.
