Used to flatten every single layer in Procreate before saving
Back in 2021 I would merge everything down to one layer because I thought smaller file sizes meant better exports. Then I watched a timelapse breakdown by some illustrator from Portland who showed how keeping layers actually helps with color correction later. Has anyone else had to relearn basic file habits after years of doing it the hard way?

Oh man, this hits hard. Honestly I used to be the same way, flattening everything because I thought it made the file smaller and easier to handle on my old iPad. Then I messed up a client project last year where I needed to adjust the saturation on just the background but couldn't because it was all one layer. Had to start over from scratch. Now I keep separate groups for lineart, flats, shadows, and highlights. It's annoying at first but when you need to tweak something small later it saves so much time.
