Walked through the Louvre last month and it hit me different

I always thought digital art was just a weaker version of real paintings. That's what I told my friend who loves Procreate. Then I saw this exhibit at the Louvre in Paris. They had this huge digital mural running on a curved screen. The colors moved like water. The light came from inside the image itself. No canvas could do that. My friend was right. Digital art has its own power. Anyone else change their mind after seeing something in person?

Did you catch the Anish Kapoor exhibit at the Bilbao Guggenheim? That massive red wax sculpture changed how I see a lot of things. I always thought modern art was just weird blobs, but standing in front of that thing, watching it slowly shift and push through that metal tunnel, felt totally different than a photo online. The smell of the wax and the cold air in that room made it feel alive in a way a painting just can't match.

Wow, you really nailed it. I actually went to that exhibit last year and I'm still thinking about it... the way that thing just crawls through that tunnel, it's almost creepy but also beautiful. You're right about the smell and the cold air too, that's the kind of stuff you just can't get from a screen. Makes me wonder why more art doesn't try to hit all your senses like that.

lewis.finley makes a good point about the sensory thing, it reminds me how even a good cup of coffee hits different at the actual cafe versus takeout.
