Why does nobody talk about using a 50% opacity brush for blending in Procreate?

I was working on a portrait last month and the skin tones looked flat no matter what. Tried a bunch of blending modes, then switched to a soft airbrush set to 50% opacity. It let me build up color slowly and made the blends look way more natural. Anyone else have a go-to brush setting for making things look less digital?

My blending looked like a toddler with finger paints before that lol.

Yeah, @nguyen.lily, that's how most skills start. You just have to push through that messy phase where nothing looks right. It's the only way to get to the good stuff.

Started using way less paint on my brush, like barely any. My colors were just muddy before that. Watched a video where they kept wiping most of it off on a paper towel first. Tried that and suddenly I could actually build up the blend instead of smearing it everywhere. Made a huge difference.
