Burned $3k on Facebook Ads before I figured out the real issue
Six months ago I was running ads for a local bakery in Austin and burning through $3k with zero sales. Turns out I was targeting women 25-45 but their actual customer base was mostly dads picking up treats for their kids on weekends. After I switched the ad copy to "make weekend breakfast easy" and targeted men 30-50, we pulled in $8k in revenue in two weeks. Has anyone else had a client's audience turn out to be totally different from what they assumed?

$8k in two weeks from dads? That's a wild swing from zero sales with the original targeting. I honestly can't believe nobody at the bakery mentioned their real customer base before you burned that $3k. That kind of result makes you wonder how many other businesses have no clue who actually buys from them.

Restaurants and shops everywhere are running blind like this. Walk into any random store and ask the staff who their regulars are, half the time they'll shrug and say "everyone" when it's really just one specific group keeping them alive.

Yeah that's rough, businesses really do get stuck in their own heads about who's actually walking through the door.
