Client ghosted me for 6 weeks after I sent the proposal

I spent nearly 45 hours on a full strategy deck for a local ecom brand. Sent it over, they said they'd review it. Then nothing. Emails ignored, calls went to voicemail. Six weeks later they popped up asking if the offer was still on the table. Had to rework half the budget numbers because the ad costs had already shifted. Anyone else deal with clients who vanish like that?

Wait, is getting ghosted for 6 weeks really that big of a deal? Like, yeah it sucks and it's annoying, but it happens all the time with clients who get busy or distracted or whatever. You spent 45 hours on that deck which is a lot, but maybe that's part of the problem. Maybe you should have sent a shorter version first and saved the full breakdown for after they showed they were serious. The pricing shift thing is a pain but that just means you adjust and move on. You knew the deal when you went in, freelancing is full of people who flake out. Honestly, I think some folks get way too worked up over this stuff. It's just business, not a personal attack.

45 hours on a full strategy deck and they just vanish like that... @phoenixw11 nailed it, that's definitely the ghost special. The pricing shift alone would have me rethinking the whole arrangement.

Guess they wanted the "ghost special" with a side of expired pricing.
