Heard a client say 'AI wrote this' about a landing page and it got me thinking

I was on a call last week and the client casually mentioned they let ChatGPT write their service page. The copy was generic and didn't even mention their city. Anyone else seeing clients go all in on AI tools without checking the output first?

That "made up a bunch of fake cities" part is the scariest thing I've heard all week.

No kidding, @paige331, it is scary. I used to be one of those people who thought AI was a quick fix for everything, but that plumbing story changed my mind completely. The idea of a website pushing fake cities for a local business is a disaster waiting to happen, and the client probably never even glanced at it. You need to read that output line by line, city names and all, before hitting publish. Trusting the tool to get basic facts right is a recipe for losing customers fast.

Oh man, that reminds me of a friend who owns a plumbing company. He had ChatGPT write his whole website and then wondered why he wasn't getting calls from people in his town. Turns out the AI made up a bunch of fake cities and services. He spent a whole weekend fixing it.
