That time I laughed at a client's request for 'QR codes on everything'
Last spring I had a client who owned a small bakery in Nashville. She wanted QR codes on her menus, her business cards, and even on the stickers she put on her pastry boxes. I told her it was a waste of time, that nobody scans those things. I was pretty smug about it too. Fast forward three months and she sends me a screenshot of her analytics. Turns out people were scanning the codes to get a discount on their next order. She got over 200 scans in two weeks from just the box stickers. I ate my words pretty quick on that one. Now I actually recommend QR codes to clients who have physical products or storefronts. Has anyone else had a tactic they dismissed that ended up working surprisingly well?

Smart phones can read QR codes from across a room now, that's the part people miss.
