Warning: I picked an all-in-one platform over a specialist tool for email marketing
I had to decide between using a single platform like HubSpot for EVERYTHING or sticking with Mailchimp plus a separate CRM. I went with the all-in-one to simplify things for my 3 person agency. Big mistake. After 4 months, I realized the email features were way weaker than what I had before. Open rates dropped by about 15% and I couldn't do proper A/B testing on subject lines. Anyone else regret trying to consolidate everything into one tool?

Dude, "the bare minimum feature for any email tool" is exactly right. I did the same thing, jumped on an all-in-one platform thinking it would save my sanity. Found out their "advanced" A/B testing was basically just showing different emails to random contacts and crossing your fingers. No statistical significance, no proper split testing on subject lines or send times. My open rates tanked too, around 12% after 3 months. And the list segmentation was so clunky I spent hours just trying to target people who bought something last month. Went back to Mailchimp plus a basic CRM and things are way better now. Some tools just shouldn't try to do everything.

Bet you never even considered how this kills your personalization game either, @avery219. Tried sending a simple birthday email to my list and the all-in-one tool kept mixing up the date fields because it was pulling from the CRM side wrong. Ended up emailing people a week late or on totally random dates. Mailchimp handled that in like two clicks.
