A talk with a hostel owner in Medellin about his first year
I was staying at a small place in Laureles last week and got coffee with the owner. He said his biggest mistake was trying to work 10 hour days from the common area, thinking he had to be 'always on' for his remote job. He switched to blocking out 4 focused hours in a private room and his work got better. It made me see my own packed schedule differently. How do you all set work hours when you're in a new spot?

Yeah, that "always on" thing is a trap. I learned the hard way that booking a real coworking spot for a few hours makes me way more productive than trying to work from a cafe.

My buddy Chris tried the cafe thing for a month. He said he spent more on lattes than a coworking pass would've cost, and got nothing done.

Maybe it's just me but I get way more done in a cafe. The background noise helps me focus.
