Airbnb host in Lisbon nearly broke my routine - here's the fix I found

I've been bouncing between Airbnbs for 8 months now and kept losing momentum every time I checked in somewhere new. Last week in Lisbon my host didn't have a proper desk, just a tiny kitchen table. So I spent 15 bucks at a local shop on a lap desk and a clip-on lamp, and now I set up my work corner within 10 minutes of arriving anywhere. Has anyone else found a simple gear upgrade that makes settling in way faster?

Got a similar hack for power setups - I bought a travel power strip with USB ports and now I don't hunt for outlets anymore. Makes setting up in a new spot feel less like a puzzle and more like plug and play. It's one of those little things that just removes friction, your mileage may vary but it works for me.

The lap desk is smart. I use a folding laptop stand and a cheap Bluetooth keyboard.

So @tarabell is out here living in 2030 while I'm still trying to figure out which way my laptop screen folds. But hey, at least your cheap keyboard probably doesn't have crumbs from last week's sandwich stuck under the keys like mine does.
