Coworking space vs. coffee shop for remote work, which wins long term?

I spent 6 months bouncing between coffee shops in Chiang Mai before finally joining a coworking space called Punspace. The vibe and free refills at coffee shops were great, but the wifi drops and lack of outlets killed my productivity. On the flip side, the coworking space costs $150 a month but I get reliable internet and actual desk space. Has anyone else made this switch and stuck with one over the other?

That wifi issue is what got me too in the end. Coffee shops are great for a couple hours but the second you need to join a video call everything falls apart. Glad you found a spot that works, the peace of mind from reliable internet is worth the price.

The Punspace place sounds solid. I had the exact same burnout after three months at a coffee shop in Saigon. The free wifi there was decent until 3pm when the whole place got slammed with tourists, then it was like watching paint dry. Plus I got tired of nursing a single latte for four hours just to keep my spot. A coworking space saved my sanity too. That 150 bucks a month hurts upfront, but it stopped me from wasting time hunting for outlets and packing up whenever peak hours hit. I honestly cant imagine going back now.

The unspoken benefit nobody mentions is the networking. Punspace hooked me up with a freelance gig from another member that more than paid for my first three months. Coffee shops just give you a caffeine buzz and noise.
