Had to pick between coworking and coffee shops for 6 months...

I chose a coworking space in Chiang Mai for $150 a month and honestly it saved my focus. Coffee shops kept getting too loud around noon and I wasted money on overpriced lattes. Anyone else find coworking worth the extra cash or do you stick to free spots?

Oh man I feel this so hard. I read somewhere that the average person spends like 4 hours a week just hunting for a decent spot to work, and that tracks with my own messing around. Coffee shops are a gamble, you roll the dice on noise levels and whether some dude is taking a zoom call at full volume. Coworking spaces aren't perfect either, some are dead quiet and feel like a library, others are too social. But for me the predictability is worth the $150. You're basically paying for peace of mind, no hunting for an outlet or fighting over a table. I'd rather pay than waste half my morning wandering around.

Haha yeah the hunt is real. I once walked into three different coffee shops before giving up and just working from my car in a parking lot. Not my finest moment but at least the outlet was mine.

What's wrong with working from your car? I did it for a full year and saved a ton of money that would've gone to rent and coffee.
