Hit 100 coffee shop punch cards this year and it made me question everything
I started tracking how many different cafes I work from as a digital nomad, and I just hit my 100th unique coffee shop this week in Chiang Mai. That number surprised me because it means I've spent over $800 on lattes alone, not counting the pastries. Has anyone else ever added up what this lifestyle really costs in small daily purchases?

Started making my own cold brew at home and that cut my cafe spending by about 60 percent. I still go out for the vibe and wifi when I need a change of scenery but it is way easier on the wallet when the habit is about the work space instead of the drink. A decent French press and a bag of beans from a local roaster pays for itself in about two weeks.

Used to be one of those people who thought spending on coffee out was just throwing money away, but honestly this post and the cold brew comment changed my mind lol. That's a solid point about the habit being about the workspace not just the drink itself. Never looked at it that way before, but now it makes total sense why people drop so much on cafe time. Might actually start doing a mix of both myself now, homemade stuff at home and save the shops for when I really need a new spot.
