Serious question about coworking spaces vs coffee shops for focus

I've been a digital nomad for about 6 months now, and I keep going back and forth on where to work. Coworking spaces cost me around $200 a month here in Medellin, but I get consistent wifi and fewer distractions. Coffee shops are cheaper but I end up buying 3 lattes and losing focus after an hour when the music gets loud. Has anyone found that one approach actually pays off more long term in terms of getting actual work done?

Charles really nailed it with the predictable place thing, that's huge for focus.

Stick with the coworking space for at least 3 months straight and track how many hours you actually get done. Coffee shops trick you with the low upfront cost but then you're buying $15 of drinks and snacks plus losing an hour every time the music cranks up or a loud group sits next to you. That $200 a month in Medellin is probably your best business expense if it saves you from those wasted afternoons where you pack up and leave after 45 minutes because the vibe shifted. I switched to a coworking spot in Chiang Mai last year and my output doubled just from having a predictable place to sit down and grind without any guessing. What does your daily routine look like right now in terms of how many hours you actually focus?

Solid desk and quiet AC at coworking spots beat coffee shop roulette every time.
