Spent a week in Playa del Carmen and the cafe work scene felt off

Every spot I tried to work from had a 2 drink minimum and the wifi kept dropping. I ended up just going back to my Airbnb after the third cafe in a row had the same issue. Does anyone know a good, quiet place to work from there that doesn't push you out after one coffee?

Ever notice how everything feels like a subscription now? You can't just buy a coffee and sit, you have to keep paying to stay. It's not just cafes, it's like every place wants a constant drip of money from you just to exist there. That whole vibe turns a simple work session into a weird transaction.

It's a pretty standard policy for live shows. They have to make money somehow with the ticket prices being low. Just seems like part of the deal.
