Sticking to one spot for months changed my whole view on remote work
I mean, most nomads I meet are all about moving fast, but idk, maybe it's just me but I realized that staying in one place lets you really settle in. When I was in Lisbon for six months, I had my regular spots and didn't stress about finding new wifi every week. It made my work better and life felt more normal, which was a big shift for me.

Slow travel wins.
Totally get this shift. Saw so many people chase new cities every month until they just hit a wall. Having a real routine changes everything, it stops feeling like a long vacation and starts feeling like an actual life. You waste zero mental energy on the basics like where to work or get groceries. That space lets you actually do good work and maybe even make a friend or two. The glamour of moving fast wears off quick when you're living out of a backpack and your back hurts.

Wow, I was totally in the "move fast, see more" camp for the longest time. My turning point was Chiang Mai. After three months there I had my go-to table at a cafe, the lady at the market knew my usual order, and I'd actually made plans with people more than once. That sense of being settled, even a little, made the work so much less stressful than constantly planning my next move.

Read a blog post from a guy who tried the fast travel digital nomad thing and burned out in three months. He ended up renting a place in Valencia for a year and said his coding output doubled just from having a proper desk and a coffee shop that knew his order. The constant moving sounds exciting until you're on a seven hour bus ride trying to debug a script on a hotspot.
