Three years in Bali and I still can't decide if slow travel is better
When I first got here, I moved every month chasing new cafes and beaches. Now I've been in Ubud for six months and my work is way better, but I miss the thrill. Has anyone else gone from fast to slow and found a middle ground?

That "thrill" you miss is just novelty... chasing it leaves you empty.

Hey, I get what you're saying but it feels deeper than just novelty to me. That thrill is about feeling alive and trying new things, not just chasing something shiny. For me, it's the difference between watching life happen and actually being in it.

Remember my friend who kept moving every two weeks in Thailand. He finally rented a motorbike for a month and just explored one province deeply. He found that staying put gave him a real home base, but having the bike meant he could still chase a random road or a new waterfall any afternoon. He calls it slow travel with fast wheels.
