Tried coworking at a library instead of a cafe and it totally backfired
I've been bouncing between coffee shops for like 6 months now but the noise was getting to me. So last week I decided to try out the public library downtown in Austin instead. Thought it would be quiet and I could finally focus on some client work. Turns out the wifi was super slow and kept dropping every 15 minutes or so. Plus there were school groups coming through every hour being loud as heck. I ended up getting less done than I do at a noisy Starbucks. Guess I learned that quiet doesnt always mean productive for me. Has anyone else had a weird experience trying to find the perfect work spot?

Man, I had the exact opposite thing happen to me but in a really weird way. I tried working out of this library branch near my place and the wifi was actually fine, but the smell of old books mixed with floor wax started giving me a headache after about two hours. Ended up moving to this weird little corner in the back where they keep the VHS collection (yes, they still have those), and a homeless guy came over and tried to sell me a bag of slightly chewed pencils for five bucks. I politely declined but he sat down and started whispering motivational quotes to himself for like 45 minutes straight. Sometimes you just can't win no matter what you try, you know?

@robins83 that homeless dude sounds like he had a better handle on things than half the people in that library honestly. But man, weird smell and a pencil salesman... seems like you're making a bigger deal out of it than it really is. Could've just put earbuds in and ignored him for a bit, problem solved.
