I always thought you needed a pro to fix a wobbly ceiling fan...
Mine in the bedroom was shaking so bad for a year I just turned it off. Watched a video that said to check the blade balance with a coin and a zip tie... it sounded silly. But I put a quarter on one blade, marked it, and sure enough, that was the heavy one. Has anyone else fixed a fan with something that simple?

That "check the blade balance with a coin" trick sounded like total nonsense to me too. I was ready to call an electrician for my living room fan. Tried the quarter thing, found the heavy blade, and just stuck a couple of those adhesive weights from an old tire balance kit on the top of the light one. Been solid for months now.

Stuck a couple of those adhesive weights" is such a smart fix. My husband tried to balance our fan with duct tape and a stack of pennies, which looked ridiculous and fell off in a week. Your tire weight idea is way more solid.

My neighbor actually used fishing weights to balance his ceiling fan and it worked perfectly for years until he moved. I remember finding a pack of them in his garage when we were helping him pack up boxes. Sometimes the weirdest solutions end up being the most reliable.
