Just figured out a better way to cut baseboard corners without a miter saw

I've been struggling with inside corners on baseboards for months, always ending up with gaps. Last weekend I tried using a coping saw instead of trying to get perfect 45 degree angles. Worked like a charm on the cheap pine trim I got from Lowes for $12 a plank. Anyone else switch to coping and never look back?

Did you back-cut the coping line or just run it straight?

Oh for sure, back-cutting is basically the secret handshake of the baseboard world. I tried it straight once and ended up with a gap you could lose a quarter in, so now I always give it a little angle. Honestly, it's like the universe finally decided to stop laughing at my trim work for a change lol.
