Just found out online tile calculators are basically lying to us
They never account for waste or cuts, so you end up with half a floor.

Ugh, tell me about it. Learned that the hard way last year. Had to run back to the store twice.

The rule I heard from a contractor was 20% for complex layouts. @joel_clark37, running back twice sounds about right for my first try too. It's like the stores count on those extra trips for their profit. I now keep a spare box in the garage just in case, but it took a few mistakes to learn. Online tutorials make it look so simple, but reality always has other plans.

Always add at least 10% extra for waste, more if the room has lots of corners. Learned that the hard way after coming up short on a bathroom remodel. Why do they make it seem so easy online, right?
