My neighbor in Denver said my deck stain job looked 'amateur' and I'm still thinking about it.
We were having a beer on my back porch last week and he pointed at a spot where the stain was uneven near the railing. He told me, 'You brushed it on too thick in the sun, that's why it's patchy.' I'd followed the can directions but never thought about the heat. Now I'm redoing the whole thing with a roller and checking the weather. Anyone have a better method for a large deck without these streaks?

Ugh, unsolicited advice is the worst. It feels like people just can't wait to point out a flaw instead of seeing the whole thing you did.

Honestly avery_flores17, that "point out a flaw" feeling is so real, I just had that happen with my new haircut.

It's like they're scanning for something to fix instead of just taking in what you made, @avery_flores17. That focus on one tiny thing totally misses the point of all the work you put in. It can make you not even want to share stuff anymore. Really gets under your skin when the effort gets ignored for a nitpick.
