That $90 tile saw blade finally stopped making me want to cry

Bought a cheap diamond blade at the big box store for my wet saw, paid $25, and it took three times as long to cut bathroom tile in my basement. It left chipped edges on every piece and I was ready to toss the whole project. Swapped it for a $90 continuous rim blade from a local tile shop in Denver and holy crap, the cuts were clean and fast. I redid the shower wall I'd been struggling with for two weekends in one afternoon. The cheap blade burned me on labor and frustration, the pricey one saved my timeline. Anyone else waste cash on bargain blades before realizing the expensive one pays for itself?

Ugh, tell me about it. I did the same thing with a cheap grout saw once, thought I was saving money but ended up spending a whole weekend scraping off half-dried mortar because my cuts were so rough and uneven I had to redo the layout twice. The cheap one was so slow it vibrated my whole wrist numb too, like I'd been holding a jackhammer. Finally borrowed a buddy's good blade and it was night and day, smooth like butter through butter. It's funny how a tool that costs a bit more can totally change your mood about a project, you stop cussing every five minutes and actually get stuff done.

Oh man, that's the thing right there. Once you've felt the difference, it's hard to go back to the cheap stuff, and it applies to everything from kitchen knives to paintbrushes. You end up spending more time fighting the tool than actually doing the job, and that just drains all the fun out of it.
