Tripped over my own extension cord and took out a half-done drywall patch
I was in my garage last weekend trying to mud a seam near the ceiling, about 10 feet up on a ladder. Got too cocky and didn't route the cord behind me, so when I climbed down I yanked the whole thing and sent the bucket of compound flying. Ended up spending 45 minutes scraping mud off my tool bench and the floor before I could even start over. Has anyone else had a DIY fail that set them back way more time than the actual job took?

Ain't it funny how trying to save time ends up costing way more though?

And yeah @amy_anderson, the quick fix always needs a backup plan that costs triple.
