Warning: I was using the wrong kind of paint for my bathroom ceiling

I painted my bathroom ceiling last month with a standard flat interior paint... and within two weeks, I had ugly moisture bubbles and peeling. I redid it this weekend with a specific bathroom paint that has mold and mildew resistance, and the difference is huge. The new paint went on smoother, dried faster, and the finish just looks more solid. I should have listened to the guy at the hardware store who told me to spend the extra $10 on the right product. Has anyone else had a paint type totally fail in a specific room?

Yeah, the "mold and mildew resistance" is the key part. I used a kitchen and bath paint in my laundry room after a regular paint failed. It's held up to the steam for over a year now with no issues.

Totally did the same thing in my bathroom. That special paint is a game changer for damp spots.

Is it really that big of a deal though?

Oh yeah, which brand did you use? I mean, I tried that stuff in my bathroom too after the ceiling started getting those little dark spots. It was a total night and day difference, idk why I waited so long. Mine was the Behr one from Home Depot and it's been fine for like two years now.
