Why does nobody talk about how bad cheap paint rollers are
I used to grab the $2 pack of rollers at the big box store for every painting job. A painter friend watched me struggle with streaks and lint for 20 minutes before he told me to toss them. He handed me a $8 microfiber roller from a proper paint store and said stop being cheap. The difference was night and day, no more picking fuzz out of the finish. Has anyone else had a small tool change completely save their paint project?

Agree with @joel_clark37 on Purdy. It's the same pattern with so many things now. You pay a little more upfront or you pay way more in time and frustration later.

Oh man, yeah. The cheap foam ones are even worse, they just fall apart halfway through the wall. I switched to a Purdy roller cover a few years back and it's the only thing I'll use now. Worth the extra few bucks.
