Happens all the time with everything now, not just CAD work. See it in cooking shows where they add ten fancy ingredients when salt and pepper would do. We get so caught up in showing we can do the hard stuff that we forget the simple answer is usually right. That client did you a favor, even if it stings a bit.

My first boss in Austin said the same thing about a drainage plan I spent a week on. It really does make you stop and question your whole process. That feedback is tough to hear but it honestly makes you better in the long run.
