Pro tip: Keep a spare roll of plotter paper in your truck

Last month, I was on a site visit in Tacoma for a big commercial job. I had to mark up some foundation plans right there with the foreman. My main roll in the plotter ran out halfway through a D-size sheet. I had to drive 45 minutes to the nearest supply house to get more, which killed the whole morning. Now I keep a sealed backup roll behind my truck seat. It has saved me twice already. What other small items do you guys keep in your vehicle for site work?

My version of that is a spare charger for my laser level, lmao. Left mine on the hood once and drove off, which is a special kind of stupid. Now I keep a cheap backup in the glove box. It's not fancy but it gets a charge when I forget the good one at the office. A pack of those fine-point Sharpies lives in there too, because the regular ones bleed on wet paper. Basically my truck is a rolling junk drawer for all my forgetful moments.

My truck's got a dedicated spot for three backup tape measures, @piperbailey. I've left more of those on roofs than I care to admit.

Oh man, a full box of nitrile gloves. I keep tearing them on rebar or they get soaked, and then my hands are a mess for the rest of the day. Having a fresh pair ready is a tiny thing that makes a huge difference.
