Breathing underwater in dreams used to freak me out. Now I think it's my brain's best way of telling me something, what do you think?

Wait but when you breathe underwater in the dream, does it feel calm or scary now? Like is your brain saying "you got this" or "you're drowning dude"?

What if your brain is just messing with you for fun? I used to have those dreams all the time, and I'd wake up gasping. Now I figure it's my mind trying to say I'm in over my head, which, let's be real, happens a lot. But honestly, I'm not great at decoding these things, so I mostly just roll with it. Maybe it's about handling stress or learning to adapt when things feel overwhelming. Or my brain is just bored and wants to see if I'll panic.

Do you keep a dream journal? I started doing that and it helped me spot patterns. For example, I noticed my stress dreams always happen before big deadlines, so now I prep earlier. Also, try calming down before bed with no screens for an hour, it cuts down on the weird dreams. If you roll with it, that's cool, but figuring out the triggers can make it less scary.

the_stella said it best. My brain messing with me for fun. Like last week I dreamed I was breathing underwater but also doing my taxes. Woke up confused, not scared. Pretty sure my brain just runs weird experiments when I'm asleep. Maybe it's bored. Or maybe it's saying I should move my desk into a pool.
