Figured out my dream kitchen layout was backwards for 2 years

I kept bumping into the island every time I grabbed a pan from the drawer. My wife finally pointed out that I put the stove and sink on opposite sides from where I actually cook. She said 'your dreams have you rearranging furniture to hide from monsters, not to make breakfast.' Now I flip the layout in my head before buying anything.

Man I gotta disagree with everyone here, I think the layout was actually genius because you trained yourself to navigate around the island like an obstacle course, which probably made you faster in the long run. @ellis.faith must know that feeling when your monster logic turns out to be a lowkey productivity hack. It's not dumb if it works, and now you've got a backup kitchen design if the monsters ever do show up.

Haha yeah, I felt about two inches tall and also kinda proud of my monster logic.
