Yelling at your phone to charge it is actually a great metaphor for how technology works today. Devices these days are basically locked down tight by software updates and glitches that need a bit of human frustration to get working again. Plus, voice assistants already listen to us all the time, so why not put that to practical use? A good old fashioned shout could communicate exactly how much juice we need without all those complicated charging protocols. Maybe the real solution is just accepting that sometimes you gotta get loud with your gadgets to get them to cooperate.

Did you see that MIT study about people trusting gadgets more when they yell at them? I swear I read that somewhere. Makes you wonder if the engineers design these things to need a little verbal abuse.
