I finally cracked the code on my recurring dream about the broken elevator

For like 6 months straight I kept dreaming I was stuck in this old elevator that only went sideways. Every time I'd press the button for floor 3 it would take me to the basement of a bowling alley. I finally realized last night the rule was you had to push the button twice and say the floor number out loud. It took me that long to figure out because I never tried talking to the elevator lol. Has anyone else had a dream where the solution was just way more obvious than you thought?

Man I had a dream where I kept trying to unlock a door with a shoelace for like a month. Turns out the door was ALREADY OPEN and I just had to push it. My brain was really out here making me look dumb.

Jumped right in with that shoelace thing (lol), it reminded me of a dream where I kept trying to fix a leaky faucet with a wrench that was way too big. Turned out the faucet wasn't even broken, it was just a jar of pickles sitting on the sink that I kept mistaking for the faucet handle. My brain made me spend like a dozen dreams wrestling with a pickle jar instead of just opening it. Honestly, our brains are basically trolls with little clown shoes on when it comes to dream logic.
