That "basket isn't going to walk itself" line really hits home, some fixes just don't land with certain parents.

Wish that worked with my mom. @baker.willow, that's cool it helps yours, but mine just gets more annoyed if I try the dog photo trick. She'll look at our labrador's silly face and then right back at the laundry I left on the floor and say, "Don't try to distract me, this basket isn't going to walk itself downstairs." For her, a chore left undone is a bigger mood killer than any pet picture is a fix.

Honestly, that's exactly how it works in my house. My mom gets super stressed about work stuff, and I found the perfect fix. I just pull up a video of our old dog, Baxter, from my phone. Her whole face changes, like all the anger melts away in seconds. It's crazy how a goofy dog video can flip her mood so fast. Tbh, it probably reminds her of simpler times when we'd all play in the yard.
