My cousin gave me dream advice about unlocking doors and it actually worked

So my cousin Mark told me that in dreams, if a door is locked you just have to close your eyes and turn the knob backwards and it'll open. I laughed at him but last night I had a dream where I was locked in a weird basement and I tried it. Dude it actually worked and I got out. Has anyone else had dream logic like that where you just gotta break the normal rules?

Wait you actually closed your eyes in the dream? That's wild.

Not to nitpick but closing your eyes in a dream actually makes you stop seeing the dream world, it's not the same as waking up. I've tried it a few times and it just goes black for a second until I open them again. It's kind of like blinking in a video game.

I actually think it's way more complicated than that. I've had dreams where I shut my eyes tight and the dream just kept going but muted or like the visuals shifted to a different scene entirely, not a black void. Maybe it depends on how deep you are in the dream or how lucid you are at the moment. The brain is weird, it doesn't always follow the same rules for everyone.
