My dream brain thinks a hallway is a better way to travel than a car
In my dream last night, I needed to get from my house to the grocery store, but instead of driving, I just walked into a hallway in my kitchen that instantly connected to the store's freezer section. The car took forever and had traffic, but the hallway was just there and worked every time. Does anyone else have dreams where normal travel gets replaced by something totally simple and weird?

Oh man, I love those shortcut dreams! Had one where my back door opened right into my old high school gym. Woke up kinda bummed it wasn't real, would save so much time.

Man, my dream brain is the total opposite. It turns simple things into impossible tasks. Last week I dreamed I had to mail a letter, but the post office was at the top of a thousand-foot cliff I had to free climb. Your hallway sounds like a sweet upgrade. My subconscious just adds pointless difficulty, like needing a boat to cross my living room.

Read somewhere that stress dreams turn normal stuff into big problems. Your cliff post office is a perfect example, like your brain making a simple task feel huge. Makes me wonder if my own weird dreams are just stress about small things getting out of hand. Maybe our brains are just bad at telling the difference between a real problem and mailing a letter.

My old apartment had a closet that always felt like it should lead somewhere else. I get what @reese_bennett25 means about pointless difficulty, my brain does that too with endless staircases. But sometimes it flips and gives me a shortcut, like a door in my shower that goes right to my mom's kitchen. It's like my subconscious can't decide if it wants to help me or mess with me on a given night.
